About Us
Tennessee Rural Partnership (TRP) is a private non-profit organization established in 2006 to address the increasing challenges of providing healthcare in rural and underserved areas across the state by assisting in the recruitment, placement, and retention of physicians and other health professionals. TRP was formed by the Rural Health Association of Tennessee and the state's four medical schools with residency programs--The University of Tennessee, Meharry Medical College, East Tennessee State University, and Vanderbilt University as well as other associations and stakeholders representing rural healthcare. TRP has successfully placed 48 primary care providers in communities to date, and of that number, 31 have received a stipend.
